28 Mahasarakham University Campus Tour Guide
The following six buildings comprise the museum site providing visitors with
a look at typical farm, village homes, and outbuildings:
1. THE BIG RUAN PHRA YUK
The Big Ruan Phra Yuk has been both structurally and materially applied, but
has been carefully preserved the same form and appearance of traditional
Isaan house are still maintained. The interior space comprises a conference
room (45 seats), a storehouse, the museum clinic laboratory, Mahasarakham
University archive room and Mahasarakham University Museum Founding
Project office.
2. THE SMALL RUAN PHRA YUK
The Small Ruan Phra Yuk is the younger sibling building to the Ruan Phra Yuk.
Standing two stories tall, just like its namesake, it is devoted to honoring the past
while respecting the future. On the upper floor, there is a permanent display
which shows the development of MSU—‘The University Story’, while on the lower
floor, there is a vibrant space designed for a revolving door of contemporary
exhibitions. Interactive displays on booth floors show the ways in which our
university has changed over the years. Visitors engage with photographs and
audio stories (in Thai) which include reminiscences from several generations of
alumni.
