4. University Industry Cooperation Center
The University Industry Cooperation Center (UIC), commonly referred to as
the MSU Business Incubator, was established in 2006 through funding from the
Commission on Higher Education for the establishment of a Business Incubation
Center. Two years later, the National Office of Science and Technology
Development Agency (NSTDA) also gave support to the UIC. The UIC is
committed to providing links between MSU students, government departments,
private enterprise and other educational institutions for the research and
development of innovation or products through the use of the best available
technological and research resources.
The UIC is a multi-faceted center providing many services. Some of these
include support, advice, training and financial aid for MSU graduate students
who wish to develop their business ideas or new products.
UIC has also set up a product distribution channel called the “MSU Outlet”, to
directly engage those who wish to remain up-to-date, from the ground-up.
The MSU Outlet is a shop owned and run by the University. The shop stocks
high-quality goods including official MSU merchandises, clothing, gifts, silk
products, agro products, skin care products and herbal supplements. Most
purchases benefit the university as well as community because all items here
are the products from the university research and its local community.
