Buddha Image Hall
The Buddha image hall houses a sacred
Buddha image called Phra Buddha
Kantharawichai Apisamai Dharma Nayok.
On 20 April 1971, on the occasion of 200th
Anniversary of Rattanakosin Era, His Majesty
King Bhumibol Adulyadej presided over the
Golden-casting Buddha Image Ceremony
accompanied by other royal family
members. HM King Bhumibol graciously
specified a name for this sacred Buddha
image as Phra Buddha Kantharawichai
Apisamai Dharma Nayok.
Phra Buddha Kantharawichai Apisamai Dharma Nayok is regarded as one
of the most sacred Buddha images in the province. During Songkran (Thai
New Year’s Festival), the University annually holds an important religious
ritual, bathing the Buddha image, in which MSU students and staff pour
fragrant water over the Buddha statue.
