The Institute has two operating sites as follows:
Na Dun Research Station
Na Dun Research Station is located right on the east of Na Dun Pagoda, an area
of 257 Acres (approx. 650 Rai or 1,040,000 Square Meters). It was established in
1991 for research and demonstration of local technology. The station consists of
4 sections:
1. Bamboo Garden: a collection of more than 70 species, some native,
some foreign.
2. Isaan Herbarium: a collection of preserved indigenous plants. Our Isaan
plant database provides detailed information on more than 700 local floral
species.
3. Herbal Garden and Production of Medicine Building: the Garden is
located on a 40-acre land. It has a collection of more than 300 species of herbs,
which are divided into 30 groups according to their uses. In addition, there are
natural herb forests located on a 119-acre land for research purposes. This also
serves as a source of herbal raw materials.
4. The Isaan Village Museum: it collects, preserves and displays Isaan
domestic life, tradition, and culture. The museum is also related to the science
of Isaan indigenous flora, fauna, ecology and local knowledge. Among its many
exhibits are a farmer’s house, a fishing house, a textile house, MahaChakri
Sirindhorn’s Isaan house, a music house, a medicinal house and a cart storage.
